Why expand from UAE to Saudi Arabia?
Saudi Arabia is the largest economy in the Middle East with a GDP of USD 1.1 trillion and a rapidly transforming business environment under Vision 2030. Since 2021, 100% foreign ownership has been allowed in most sectors — a major shift from the previous 51% Saudi partner requirement. The Saudi government is actively courting UAE-based businesses to establish a local presence.
MISA registration — the gateway for foreign companies
MISA (Ministry of Investment of Saudi Arabia) is the single registration point for foreign companies establishing in KSA. The process allows UAE companies to set up a branch, subsidiary, or new entity in Saudi Arabia with 100% foreign ownership in approved sectors.

Saudization (Nitaqat)
Saudi companies must employ a percentage of Saudi national employees depending on the business sector. This is known as Nitaqat (Saudization quota). Technology and consulting companies typically have lower Nitaqat requirements (4–7%) than industrial or retail sectors (up to 25%). Failing to meet Nitaqat results in inability to renew work permits for foreign employees.
